Jennifer Selliers

Director, Senior Consultant

Jennifer Selliers is a Director and Senior Consultant with Renaissance Regulatory Services, Inc. She brings more than 20 years of experience building and administering compliance programs. Her work has supported diverse financial initiatives within small, medium, and large organizations, including boutique fixed-income firms, hybrid and dual registrants, and public asset managers. Her areas of expertise include compliance program development, policies and procedures formation, and risk and control assessments.

Prior Compliance Leadership Experience

Before joining the Renaissance Regulatory Services team, Jennifer led compliance initiatives for the State of Tennessee’s Department of Treasury, which managed more than $60 billion in public assets. She collaborated across 47 functional areas to achieve a wide range of compliance objectives. These included overhauling the pre- and post-trade compliance program for public equities and fixed income. She also implemented an automated personal securities trading program, supported derivatives trading and alternative investment activities, and strengthened internal controls across the State’s 401(k), 457, and 403(b) plans. In addition, Jennifer managed the policies and procedures lifecycle. She also prepared and filed the Department’s securities regulatory filings, including Form 13F and Form 13H.

Broker-Dealer and Regulatory Experience

As a former chief compliance officer, Jennifer oversaw licensing and registration, advertising, internal surveillance, branch audits, and regulatory examinations. She also served as compliance manager for a dual registrant operating an independent broker-dealer model with more than 800 registered representatives nationwide. As a result, Jennifer has extensive experience with securities regulation, sales and supervision, and retail products. She also led or supported firm responses to SEC, FINRA, and MSRB examinations, as well as FBI and other law enforcement investigations.

Industry Involvement and Speaking Engagements

Throughout her career, Jennifer has authored several industry publications and spoken at numerous conferences and events. Her presentations have included Recruiting and Training Your Compliance Ambassadors, Annual Testing and Business Reviews, and Sub-Advisor Due Diligence. In addition, Jennifer has served on several industry working committees, including the College Savings Plan Network, 529 Plan Disclosure Principles (#7), and the MSRB Municipal Fund Securities Advisory Committee. She is also a current contributing member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and an adjunct professor at Fordham Law’s Program on Corporate Ethics and Compliance.

Education and Professional Background

Jennifer has earned several professional designations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Public Service Management from Cumberland University.

Personal Interests

Outside of her professional work, Jennifer enjoys long-distance backpacking and hobby farming in Tennessee with her husband and two sons.
